Is the end cap steel or plastic ? Your pics do not show it. The MK1 does not have full length scope grooves. Has two separate short ones.

I just recently (today) acquired a .22 BSA Meteor. Now I am a bit confused on which variant it is. It has, to what I understand, the MK 1 Stock. But the serial number starts with TB (at least I think its a B, There is a T then a space and then what looks like a B, also been double stamped). Which according to Knibbs is a MK 2 serial number. Ill upload some images of the rifle.
Got it for what I think is a good price (£70). Came with a BSA scope which is ok. Barrel catch is a bit stiff but ill get that sorted. Also looks like it has been painted and not blued, either from factory, or more likely, by a previous owner.
So have I got a mark 1 or 2?

BE AN INDEPENDENT THINKER, DON'T FOLLOW THE CROWD
According to Mr Knibbs' list you've got a mk2 TA 62-66,TB 66-68.
Only the mk1 had a blued finish, the mk2-5 being stove enamelled
Just had a look at the stock, the three flutes in the forend mean it's a mk1.
The barrel has a dovetail and circular rebate to accept the mk2 rear sight and elevation adjuster.
That's a Mark two action in a mark one stock .
