This is what we use. Used a magnifying glass if needed. Push it in a .177 hole and gauge is the size of a .22

I've been having a bash at 25m benchrest with my .177 PCP. I've read the targets should be scored based on the size of a .22 pellet by plugging with a special gauge. Link to what I think I'm talking about below. Sounds like a good way to get my score up a bit Is this what is being described please? And if so, I know this is going to be a stupid question, but how do you use it exactly?
Cheers in advance, Richard

Hi Richard, if you are using NSRA cards, they are outward gauging, so the bigger diameter is more likely to cut the line and count down. This will apparently lower your score. David
The gauge you need is sold in the NSRA shop and is listed as the 0.22A. it has a slower taper than a 0.22 plug gauge so when pushed gently into the .177 shot hole it will centre itself properly to enable reading of the .22 oversize scoring ring when it touches the target.
The NSRA scoring course suggests the use of the plug gauge you have pictured with the wobbly spring on top can actually distort the score reading as light distorts when passing through the magnifying glass.

Thanks Tone, will look into it.
Just in case anyone really wants to know, the link I originally posted is just a magnifying glass for a 177 pellet hole. It doesn’t enlarge it to a 22 pellet hole. What I was actually looking for was the gauge linked to by Basharbob and martini.
Cheers all!
Hello rm,have a look at Yorkshire Smallbore Shooting website and select comps. BR, for the league rules, NSRA rules are the same.
The rifle uses no rear support, butt in shoulder and non shooting hand providing support to the underside,no fancy gear so cheaper!!remember its Yorkshire!
The Yorkshire own design target is inward scoring except when gauging a +1 !!available as 20 yds or 25 yds.cheaper than the NSRA target, its a big league !!!
Your club can affiliate to Yorkshire for a few pounds or you as an individual, summer and winter leagues.
