Thanks RM. I've just picked up a copy of the Richard Lee book which is chock full of data and info..
That titegroup load is just a little too hot for my club
Donald
People who have been there focus on the fundamentals. People who sit at keyboards all day focus on the trivial and inane.
My "go-to" load for many years was 4.9gr Viht N340 pushing a GM 240gr LTC/LRN/LSWC bullet, std. C.O.L. Speed of 637fps, for 216 ft-lb. Group size @25yd was measured at 32mm (edge-to-edge, 10 shots).
Recently I've been using up some Viht N350. I'm using 5.6gr with a 240gr GM LSWC. With a reduced C.O.L. of 1.5" and a medium roll crimp, I get 716fps, yielding 273ft-lb. Group sizes are a little better, esp. at 50m.
hi,
I'm new at this and I bought maxam gdb111, lapua scenar 167 and now I don't have reliable data from the powder supplier.
So, for what I have searched, i got data from the supplier for the barnes ttsx168 and for all the powders i got info i understood that the amount needed for the TTSX is a littler bit lower than for the scenar 167.
What I would like to ask is if someone as more data and if using the following amounts should be safe and correct?
My idea is to do a couples of rounds from 40.6-42.7, go to the range and than proceed if needed or possible.

From a quick google, clay and game advertise this powder and have THIS load data.
You don't mention what calibre you're loading for.
Hi,
I’m reloading for a 30-06 Winchester Xpr, the bullets are .308.
The loading data you gave is the same as the maxAm has available but it doesn’t have for my specific bullets.
My question, taking into consideration the other data is:
Should it be safe to use the data from the barne Ttsx 168 since for the other powders I have data, when using the scenar 167 they actually need a little bit more powder.?
All those maxam 30/06 loads are for hunting bullets.
My advice - and it is only a suggestion - would be to use the 168 barnes starting load with your scenar.
Use your magazine and chamber to dictate OAL. Chrono a few rounds/check primers/check ease of bolt lift.
