Big well done to Lewis top bombing mate. Must be nice for your shooting partners not to have to take their shoes
off to count your misses.

Once again thanks to Phil and his small band of helpers at Horsham for hosting today. Thanks also to the weather gods (other than the wind pixie in the field.....)
As previously mentioned Roger Dibbens has stepped in to do the scores and spreadsheet (ably assisted by Brigitte) so all that leaves me to do is to confirm the class winners and trophy winners

Thanks to Horsham for mixing it up for today - things seemed different - or was it just my cold ??
Anyway - I've posted all the results on the SHS facebook page including the day's results in my usual format.
let me know of any typos etc.
Here's my attempt at posting the days results - but as Biggles has pointed out in the past, this forum page doesn't allow certain formattings...

Yet again thank you Roger.
Kevin how about we get some kind person to carve the table into your slate arse with a blunt blade? You don't really need or want to see your scores if you can call them that anyway.
Lol do you think? Surely they would recognise my sincerity? Facebook is my friend.

I do have to side with Andy (unusually ) on Facebook, some of us don't use it, I personally will not use any of the many social media unless they are closely moderated, and I definitely do not regard myself as a Luddite or someone who continues to use papyrus or wax tablets...funny though
Marvelous mornings entertainment wandering around the beautiful English countryside with the South African mafia
To my new bru, even boets, what a bitter koud morning that was, as usual I was a babbelbekki, started off looking like a fundi and proper kief, ended up like a dwankie and proper gatvol, strings of bilksem, donnerse....got me all dikbek
Still great company and plenty of giggles
Thanks Hawkies, it was obvious a lot of work had gone into setting that course...not sure why some were pulled? Its Sunday morning fun time not the World Championship
Some of them scores look like typos how many
..."My son," said the Norman Baron...."The Saxon is not like us Normans. His manners are not so polite. But he never means anything serious till he talks about justice and right"...
I'll take the blame for that Lol. I cannot understand what happened 'cos we measured everything at least twice with the tape measure. However, one target was 6 inches too short and the other one was nearly 6 yards too long! It was quite proper for people to question both targets after the event; and quite correct that the invigilator pulled both targets, as both clearly breached the rules. No doubt about that! As chairman (and I think I may even have had a hand on the tape measure as well) I take full responsibility and can only apologise to everyone who attended. We tried really hard to set a completely new course, with some new ideas set to a 'national standard', and I personally feel rather embarrassed by it all. There are no excuses. however. We'll just have to do better in the future.
I still think it was a good day though and I do hope that most who attended would agree. Feedback on the course (which I always try and seek) was otherwise very good and, as you say, with just two or three of us setting the course over a matter of 3 or 4 days, it is a lot of hard work. Just a shame it wasn't quite as 'perfect' as we would have hoped. I am grateful to those who pointed out the errors' and for their patience, approach and understanding. I am also grateful to those who had to calculate the scores twice, to whom I also offer a sincere apology.
Sincerely.
Phil
I must thank the course setters for a fabulous course despite the hickups I heard lots of positive comments. And thank you to the shs team for helping me out by starting me down the bottom end. No pun intended. Despite seriously struggling physically I had a great day with the support of sedger and toy story. I was told to give it a miss but I love spending my weekends with you folk too much to stay away. So thanks for the great company and banter.
Does anyone know how to contact doughnuts Anonymous cos I just cant seem to give them up and may be a 0 addict
Absolutely no need to apologise to me mate, I thought it was an excellent course....the only perfect course is the course that one day I will clear
....6 inches...come on, get a grip........(that's not me reaping scorn on the anal individual who called that one, its what I just said to the other half ).
A piece of advice to those who shoot HFT every week and wonder why their scores are not improving, get out there and help set the courses
..."My son," said the Norman Baron...."The Saxon is not like us Normans. His manners are not so polite. But he never means anything serious till he talks about justice and right"...
Supper day out cracking corce didn't notice any defects with it I just shoot the target and when I miss I say bum or blast.
Phil please don't beat yourself up over this. Targets are often pulled during the course of a season at Nationals etc. one was even pulled at the Worlds a couple of years back. Remember one year the bulk of a course having to be rebuilt after the first session was a few shots in as hardly anything was compliant. We are in the SiHFT use to no targets being pulled for not being right as once the course is vetted no targets can be removed and must be shot as seen regardless of compliance. It isn't the same everywhere. Overall the course was very good with some excellent target placements. It was also obvious to me that a lot of hard work had been put in to other things as well. So well done to you and the other Phil.
Andy.
