Doesn't sound factory to me. Any chance of posting pictures from the auction listing?
Any experts out there ever seen a Hw77 with an English shotgun style stock, with a straight chequered grip before? Ive just got one at a local auction and I've never seen one before. Quite liked the styling of it, although it appears to have a bit of surface rust (collecting it Monday). Just wondering if it was an option at some point, or if it's a one off custom job.

WANTED: Next weeks winning lottery numbers :-)
Beeman had a few done back in the 80's. Stock looks like a Beeman Webley C1. Not many made it to these shores so a good find. Mach 1.5
I'm thinking it's a home modification, can be seen here:

I'm sure it will need some work doing to it, yet another project I probably didn't need!
very interesting one off - I'd take the scope off and refit the open sights.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
That looks very pointable.
Good ratter with a red Dot on top or a 1.5-5x Whitetail.
The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?
Harry Callahan: When a man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher’s knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn’t out collecting for the Red Cross.
I like it.
That isn’t a modification of the standard stock. Custom job.
It does sound a lot like what Mach describes above (anyone got a photo of the Beeman ones?).
The Beeman ones are very rare. Saw one for sale about 2 years ago but it was soon sold. Mach 1.5
looks very nice
That is utterly lovely. I'm with Shed Tuner -open sights, maybe even a peep.
Good deals with these members
I'm actually really excited to pick it up tomorrow. I know there's a bit of surface rust to remove, but I'm pleased to hear that others think it's good looking too. I have three shotguns, two of which are straight stocked side by sides, and if this Hw77 is anywhere near as pointable as those, I'm going to love it. Whether it was a bargain at £153 after fess is another matter though.
I think that seems a good price for an interesting item. It may even turn out to be an old one with the preferred 25mm piston.
Have fun with your new toy

A new one on me! Most interesting, thanks for the info and pic.
Picked it up today, and looking at it, the woodwork is very nice. Sadly it appears that the metal has seen better days. Serial number seems to suggest 1983 or 1984, although I can't really read it because the camera was shaking.

If it is that age, I think a re-blue might be in order.
