Never go off half cocked....
All lies matter
Folks
At the DSGB Annual General Meeting this weekend I stood down as Chairman of the DSGB Club.
I have been Chairman for 10 years and I would like to thank everyone of you who helped us with The shooting range and in any other way during my time as Chairman - without your help and support we would not be where we are now.
I am staying on the committee as vice-chair for a year, and will continue as a pistol coach and doing social media for as long as I am needed.
I hope you will continue support the DSGB Club under the leadership of new Chairman, Paul Martin. and please know that you will always be welcome to come and see us.
I think the idea of a reunion is great & I'm sure Rosie would love it as well.
Thanks again for everything

All the regulars who helped at Stoke Mandeville will be hearted to know that, this afternoon when I looked, the plastic cladding remains in good, clean condition.
You may be disheartened to learn the door has been repaired (poorly) having been kicked in.

Those of you that worked so hard to give us a waterproof club will be saddened to learn that the hut has been condemned by SERCO, no one is allowed in without a member of staff from the stadium as escort until all works to rectify the faults is complete.
I am not too sure what the exact requirements are, but I believe it’s to do with the wiring, no fire alarm and the gas storage facilities. We are using the Bowling room at the moment but no tea making facilities.

Bob
Let's hope the upgrades are made swiftly and the shooters can have their facilities back without too much delay.
Please keep us informed if you learn anything new about the situation.
Fingers crossed.

Well that really is a bummer
On the plus side, what we initially started 12 years ago (wow! That long ago?) Has given the opportunity to raise some world class athletes that took home many, many gold medals.
We freely gave up our time, many weekends away from our families, so that others could have a welcoming, safe and dry training facility. It gave us some great memories, and it also gave us some fantastic friends (and Terry ) Being invited to their Christmas parties felt an honour.
We all new deep down that eventually those near 80 year old WW2 Nissen huts would be well past their sell by date, they were already in pretty bad condition 12 years ago.
Hopefully they can find a viable solution that will ensure that the Stoke Mandeville shooting ranges live on a little longer.
