Was it Mike Seagrave?
Hi Everyone
Anyone have any cobwebs left? I doubt it. Perhaps not the strongest breezette we have ever experienced at Ford, but certainly enough to play with your pellets and chuck them in places you had not considered.
Excellent job, Fordies, in setting out interesting targets which would have challenged us in calm conditions, let alone today. Would love to know how many doughnuts were achieved on the doughnut target. I’ve just totted up the grand total (of zeros) and it’s a record breaking 85. Only 16 cards out of 57 had zero doughnuts. Combine those with Round 7 producing the lowest top score of the year AND lowest average of 44.1.
Yup – I reckon anyone coming in with 50+ did brilliantly and probably miffed that it took a 52 to win Gold. Only 3 Gold badges issued is also a SIHFT record (low). You’ll have to blame Kev Hills for that, with his truly amazing 56 and stretching his lead at the top of the Open Class year-to-date table, where he’s now 8% points clear of his nearest rival (Justin Rayner).
Quite a gaggle came in with a 49, some of which were beating themselves up about this. When you look at who joined you, you should not be too hard on yourselves; there are some ‘top’ names sharing that result with you.

Just the one new SIHFT Platinum Badge awarded today. Well done me!

• Mike Seagrave – the £30 cash prize, and
• Nathan Ingram – the Air Arms goody bag
Thanks to Steb for reminding me that Mike S won the Bonus Bunny.
And the Team scores, both in-round and year-to-date, are:
Club Round 7 Cumulative Points
Buxted 250 83
Meon Valley 248 69
Oaks 241 69
Ford 230 58
Horsham 224 53
Swallows 223 53
Iden Fern 215 47
Maldon DNA 44
Bisley DNA 33
With only 3 members present today, Horsham had 2 lucky-dip cards pulled from the pack.
Happy shooting wherever you are until SIHFT Round 8 on 25th August, when we return to the wood at Swallows FTC. No bluebells at this time of the year and the course setters are praying for at least some breeze (but not as much as yesterday, please). Between now and then, a number of us will be away at Furnace Mill and Nomads for rounds 7 & 8 of the UKAHFT Nationals. In Sussex, you can ‘play’ at Horsham where they are staging another round of their Summer Open. I'm sure that Phil will post details shortly.
Should you be aware of any other events of interest, please let us know.
