I've made a couple, just need to test various 'fillings' to see how quiet I can make them before I think about flogging them! , just bought a Db meter, so will see how they go.
Cheers.

Do you not need to be an RFD to make and sell them ?
Yes, you do.
Not in kit form as far as I'm aware.

I have made a few just for fun, mainly for pcp rifles, and while I would not claim that they are as efficient as some commercially available models, some are pretty good.
For materials, I have used a variety of things like: plastic or steel tubes from old solar powered garden lights that you stick in flower borders. The ends are usually delrin with one end tapped to screw on a barrel or sometimes drilled etc to a barrel diameter as a 'slip on'. Filling varies from the oft mentioned hair curlers to experiments with springs, washers, spacers and foam sheet etc. The exit end is drilled to accept a pellet exit with a little leeway e.g. 6 or 7mm for 4.5mm 1.77. Results can vary with the length of the cylinder and its diameter and it pays to experiment.
Cheers, Phil
Made several over the years from alloy and carbon fibre tubes etc. some being very effective.
Had some perforated mesh rolled and spot welded to form inner support frames for various,felt/foam sound deadening materials.
Still got a box full somewhere, will dig it out and put it on here as not playing with projects anymore.....
One thing I did notice on mine is that it did cause pellet drop of maybe an inch or so at 50 yards.
Can’t remember what it did, if anything to grouping though.

Itnis a myth that a mod will cause POI to drop. I had one rifle where the harmonis of the rifle raised the POI up and tonone side. It was my Steyr and Inhad a specialist mod mase. The rifle had a very tight group with the mod off and if anything... tighter with it on but POI shifted and remained tight.
The issue is that the POI may not be the same for mod on or off. Each mod will perform.differently too. On one rifle a HWmod bey sound better that a DaystYe... but switch rifle and the pecking order can change to.
If younwant to undersyand what to do re filling... Hw which is an excellent bench mark go to... use hair curler style bodies in a felt like wrapping.. you can use felt and foam etc in on powder burning mods. The chanmbers .... are not usually the same size either.... 2 or 3 sections may be differing lengths.
