    Kempton Toy.

Towards the end of the Kempton Fair I thought I would look for some new toys.

Usual offerings until I got to Protek and saw a gay cardboard rifle box.
A blue heart, German script and,on top of the box ,an odd looking airgun bound up with a sticker of a little German chap wearing lederhosen etc showing me how to carry a rifle correctly.

What is this ? I thought, in German.

Looks like a modern Annie 275 or a Diana 30.

The Protek man ( I forget his name,as he does mine) explained that it was the new Diana Oktoberfest air rifle.
He further informed me it was made in China and cost £149.
Stopping only to sell me 500 H&N copper coated bbs he sent me on my way with the box and gun.

At home I found an aluminium funnel to load 100 bbs and a metal target in the box.

I then proceeded to punch holes in a few cans amusing myself no end.

    £149!
    I've paid more for pellets.

It's an interesting take on a very old design. Plink-tastik!

2 fpe but that is because it need to be easy cocking. The German gentleman is very impressed with the robust cocking mechanism. Working the bolt on one of these devices is five-sixteenths of the fun.

    Thats the one.

    Seems solidly made.
Maybe low power but puts holes in Mr Heinz.

Certainly better than the 275 I had- but not as cute.
Also 100 shots from one fill.

I googled it Patrick and via Google images there is a picture of an attractive blonde German lady holding one. I definitely want one, the women that is not the rifle!

I'm sure beer is involved somewhere too Mike.

    But maybe not whilst shooting.

    Pretty good at the range.
    More accurate than expected.
    Power not bad.

We are talking cans up to 20 yards here tho.

Nice not to have to reload too.
