    Loft find

Hi to all, I’ve just moved house to a village near Bedford, the house we’ve moved into has a gun cabinet in the loft, when I saw it I didn’t see any keys to it, instinctively I ran my hand over the lid of the cabinet only to find the keys! So I opened it & jackpot I found a bsa breakdown in .177 in working order, a couple of bits missing like the trigger guard & screws & part of the rear sight. If anyone has any
Of these parts available I would be interested, also I wonder what power they make? I’m kind of thinking around the meteors power? Hopefully someone will enlighten me! Oh the number on the trigger block are 722.
    Regards Graham

That number dates it to the first year of production 1932. Sorry, can't help with parts

Graham, Meteors vary a lot in power, the last few I tidied up varied from 8 ft.lb. to just over 10 in one that had a gold coloured spring fitted. These figures were after I fitted new O rings on the piston heads, but used the old springs that were in them already. My .177 B.S.A. break barrel puts out 6.7 ft lb. I have never touched the internals so it could probably improve a bit on that.

Electricians working in a loft found the householders large stash of Kruger Rands and decided to keep them. Police got all but 3 back.

I took something I found in the loft to an auction house to find out what it was and how much it might be worth. They said they couldn't tell me what it was worth, but could tell me what it was A WATER TANK !
Seriously though, I have taken a look around the usual places for spares for the BSA Breakdown with no luck, so I'm not sure where you might get the bits you need.

A few years back, when helping my sister do a few jobs after she moved in, a holdall was discovered in the loft. Thought it might contain money from ill gotten gains, but, it was lots of porno magazines and videos. Going through the lot, it was disappointing not to find anything about pellet testing, best grease to use, stock finishing, nothing airgun related, not even old motorcycle stuff.

Ahh, I wondered who moved in when I sold up....
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Ah Shed tuner, you have a wondrous immaculate taste in literature, art and culture. My sister being religious and a proper prude made me remove them from her house immediately. I then had to store the lot in my loft before I had the chance to see if there was anything airgun related - I forgot to mention, under the floor boards in the bathroom, I found a collection of Tell pistols and a couple of Webley Mk2's in original boxes complete with 3 barrels, oils..... all greased up and in immaculate order, I presume you don't want them posted on then?

    All the best....

    Loft find

Thanks for the replies folks, I’m thinking maybe the trigger guard off a bsa light pattern might fit
    The date was most helpful.

Hi, interested to know if you sourced any bits?
I very recently bought a BSA Breakdown, all complete and running smoothly; but rear sight missing the elevation adjuster screw, and whole rear sight seems to be off another similar BSA.
