Hello to All,
A couple of years ago, I bought a Hawke Vantage 4 x 32, to see what one got for the monies (IIRC £60.00).
I was most surprised by the competency of the 4 x 32.
Nice fine reticule, clear glass - I really liked the Hawke
Aside from HFT (where I use 10x42), I have never used 'higher' mag scopes - I hunted for ca. fifteen (15) years with a Simmons Whitetail Classic 1-5 x 25, 'permanently' set to 3x, and found 3x mag. more than sufficient.
My shooting buddy has used a 4 x 32 for all of his shooting life.
The 4 x 32 is very much under-sung these days.
Have fun & a good Sunday
Best regards
Russ
A4 ret. Very clear from 10yrds onwards. Mach 1.5

...exactly 4x32 but best scope I've had was an S&B 6x44 (42?) Kick myself every time I open the cabinets for selling it on 😭
Pardon?
This thread has really crystallised what I have been thinking lately. And I have really enjoyed it.
I have just taken a punt on a very cheap Edgar Brothers 4x32, so cheap it was rude not to. No idea what they are like, we'll see.
After a bit of googling I can only find a few new 4x32's. The dearest is the have vantage ao, followed by Nikko Sterling and BSA. Have I missed any other quality offerings, couldn't find Nikon or Weaver?
