Yep, lovely grips
I've been doing a bit more artistic picture editing again due to being a bit bored and having nothing better to do at the moment. I'm not really a fan of the later alloy framed Webley pistols, but couldn't resist this Mk2 Junior due to the nice job somebody had done with the wooden grips, especially to incorporate the Webley badge. I still have the original box, grips and paperwork, so could always revert back to the original form if I ever feel the need.

Yep, lovely grips
Nice grips as well as a fine example of a Webley Junior MKII
They look sooooo much better than the plastic grips.
Must agree, this is a real neat looking pistol with the after market nice grips.
For me, wooden grips transform the appearance of these alloy framed Webley pistols although never approaching the overall quality of the steel framed models. I still don't understand why Webley replaced the nice wood grips on the very first pre-war Webley Juniors with the unattractive pressed steel grips before eventually settling on the Bakelite material as their material of choice for future pistols.
I could understand the choice if they were forced to make changes to reduce production costs, but this was a time when seemingly no expense was spared to produce products of extremely high quality with little regard to the associated higher production costs.

Nice looking pistol, more appealing with those lovely looking wooden grips

A couple more Webley pistols that have had the synthetic grips replaced.
