Hi From New Zealand. I have a Webley Junior (Series 2?) with batch 2273.
It also has a rifled barrel so I wonder if this is one of the rifled barrel versions or a replaced barrel from a MKII....
A few more for the Premier list too..

Hi From New Zealand. I have a Webley Junior (Series 2?) with batch 2273.

a couple more Premiers for the list, both 'B' series and now belong to me.
Batch no. 1084 dated 10 5
Batch no. 1553 dated 12 5
Bought from new in 1976 , I have a Webley Premier Mk2 ,.22, Serial # 111 ,stamped on front RHS of barrel axis block that sits inside compression tube . In pristine nick ,hardly been shot. This would , I think, make it your earliest on the database . Hope this is of use.Photos can be provided.
Thank you for your post and kind offer of photos.
The Premiers were not serial but batch numbered, as has been discussed near the start of this thread. Unfortunately the Premier Mk 2 did not appear to have been date coded and it is not possible to date a specific pistol from the batch number alone. The Mk 2 was only made for a short period of time but there are differences to look out for, which point to early or late examples; such as the presence or not of a barrel shroud behind the muzzle. The knurling on the barrels differed too.
Kind Regards,
John
I have a lacquered / enamel finish premier MK1 in 22, E series, batch 647, date stamp 9/73. All markings are hidden under the left grip.
Anybody else think this should be in the sticky section?
Well I’d propose it, best thing on Webley pistols and manufacture I’ve found.....
2 8/73 Premiers. 228 & 291.....63 apart
Made the same day? Or the next day?
Hi John/Josie,
I am a bit late to this party. I bought my first air pistol at the start of lockdown to 'keep my eye in' while my club was closed. But I got the bug and recently bought a Webely Senior. My main interest is historic firearms so I had to try to date it.
The guy I bought it from told me he is not a colletor and bought it about ten years ago 'on a whim'. He told me it is from 1958. From what I have read it might be a little earlier, say '53. It has the address with 'Birmingham 4' on the side which I understand they dropped in '53.
The number under the left grip is 4991.The number, 991 is stamped on the front end of the frame.
If this gives you the batch number you may care to add it to your list.
As I said I am new to airguns. Black powder is generally more my thing.
John
Hi John,
Welcome to the collectables section of the BBS.
The batch numbers can't be used to date a pistol unfortunately. The 4 was dropped in 1958 rather that 1953.
If you start another thread and post pictures of your Senior, the anoraks on here may be able to help date it for you but generally speaking, a Senior can only be narrowed down to a period of several years, such as 1946 - 1949 or 1950 to 1958, etc.
Kind regards,
John
Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.
I was not aware this list was still going but since I last contributed to this list in 2014 I have acquired two more Juniors:
1632 and 260 (remarkably, the same as Mickey's on you list). That now makes two with that batch number!
