Hi Sam according to Hiller - WHICH IS OLD AND QUITE ROUGH
AIRSPORTER MK2 - 43.75 INCHES

Hello All ,
Firstly , please be aware I am away with work at the moment and do not have access to my Airgun / Dennis Hillier books.
A very quick search on the Internet was not very productive either.
Could anyone give me the O/A length of :
A/ A Mk2 Airsporter
B/ A Webley MK 3
I have sold quite a few rifles recently and have run out of old gun boxes to use as postal boxes.
I have found a postal box on a certain website that is double ply cardboard , apparently , and designed for Golf Club postage.
I am giving them a lot of thought.
Obviously when I get home I can visit a supermarket , take a few fruit and veg boxes and make my own.
Does anyone on here have any thoughts / info on air rifle postal boxes , please ???
Anything anyone has found that will do the job ?
Thanks,
Sam

One bit of advice - I personally would never send an air rifle in one piece if the action could easily be removed from the stock. An air rifle sent intact runs the risk of getting the stock broken at the neck, and I speak from bitter experience.
If work has you near a Gunshop most are pleased to offload boxes 'cos they often have to pay for disposal.
As said separate stock from action will get you under the 1m threshold.
Hi Sam,
Mk.3 stock is 24"
Mk.3 action is just under 31"
I don't have an Airsporter immediately to hand.
And if sending an Airsporter especially taken apart make a packer of wood or something to go between the stock cheeks to avoid damage as they smap like carrots otherwise
I always send guns broken down to both to often avoid the length threshold and to make the parcel look less "gunny"!

i go to my local bike shop, and get a bike box, chop it and glue into size i need, time consuming, but very strong material.
