Some MK2's had two grooves I had one myself a few years back ,from what I can remember I think it was a fairly late one GE prefix.
It also had a one piece stock.
I’ve seen an airsporter that is described as a mk2
Only thing I’m concerned about is that it’s got the standard two slot grooves for scope rather than four, two separate grooves I normally see in mk2
Was any mk2’s made with the standard two slot grooves?

Thanks for the info much appreciated
I think it’s a GD prefix
The tap lever has a hole drilled into it for some reason

That looks like a MK1 Airsporter tap lever ?.
The tap lever is not so curvy on the MK11 see here https://forum.vintageairgunsgallery....irsporter-mk2/
No idea why someone has drilled a hole in it.
It could be a transitional MK2 I have one that is a mixture of MK1 and Mk2 parts.BSA did this to use up the previous models parts as they introduced the new model but I thought these were GC Prefix guns. https://www.airgunspares.com/whats-my-bsa
Open to correction but my understanding is that the Mk1 had a tapered barrel and Mk2 not, just parallel.
Later Airsporter models did not have the auto open loading tap.
Certainly the case with mine.
But serial number is the best guide.
