Wanted, a springer to shoot game at 30 yards.

My son, now in middle years, has shot all sorts of weapons with me (down the range when I had an FAC and in the field with shotguns) now wants me to find him an accurate air rifle (he thinks without a scope but I think with) and a springer.
He has given me a budget and wants something "accurate but looking good". Vintage ish I think, suggestions and offers gratefully accepted.
IE anyone got anything to offer?

vintage will be (slightly) less accurate than modern, and may not have scope rails. so you really need to confirm that requirement first. Personally I'd say for 30 yard hunting, you owe it to your quarry to use a scope.

Modern - Accurate but looking good - get a Walnut Air Arms Pro Sport or TX200 HC
Somewhat vintage - accurate but looking good (but harder to steer) FWB Sport

Or just about any decent modern springer with a nice custom stock.

As you get older vintage, the accuracy and power do drop off a little, with the possible exception of the HW35, but they are not that pretty.

others will be along to offer their suggestions which will of course all differ
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Vintage, possibly a HW35. Modern, maybe a HW99. Hunting out to 30yds? If 25yds I would think a HW30 would be up to the job but I'm no hunter so perhaps people can correct me on hunting ranges with a Hw30.

I suggest a Pro Sport for more modern with fewer flaws or FWB 127/124 Sport for more vintage but more flaws.
