Wow, that's a relief.... I only got 8 out of 10....I think I could be safe!!
You might be a collector if:
1. You genuinely have lost count of how many guns you own.
2. You own guns you have never fired.
3. You own spare parts for guns you no longer own.
4. You own spare parts for guns you have never owned.
5. At least one of your guns has been in pieces in a box for over a year.
6. You own pellets in a calibre that you don’t posses a gun for.
7. You have every edition of Walter’s and Wesley’s books.
8. If someone says “Kempton Park”, you think about guns not horse-racing.
9. You own at least two guns of the exact same model and vintage.
10. You own two guns of the exact same model and vintage, but one has a tiny difference that can only be spotted and appreciated by ten other people in the world.
Wow, that's a relief.... I only got 8 out of 10....I think I could be safe!!
Wow, I’m not as bad as I thought! Thanks for the perspective, only guilty of a couple, but the last one is dead on! Lol
I got ten out of ten and I don't even consider myself a collector, more of a shooter who buys guns and bits to try out,but never sells anything!
Ooops!Correction, 9 out of ten I don't have the books......

Only 7 / 10 for me.. Mach 1.5
Uh-oh...!
Ticked eight boxes, with item no. 10 my main downfall.

Guilty as charged.

9 out of 10. All except:
4. You own spare parts for guns you have never owned.
But I bet you could easily come up with more that would give me 10 out of 10. Or 20 out of 20.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.
Spooky! I'm preparing an article on this very subject; slightly different take but same principle question.
I don't currently own pellets in calibres I don't have matching airguns for but I do have lots of unopened packs that I would never dream of opening - does that count?

Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.
only 9/10 - I fell foul of the books.
But then again I have pellets in two calibres of guns I don't posess, so maybe I get a bonus ppoint ?
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Good stuff guys, glad you enjoyed it.
You don’t have to score 10/10. I only get to 9. Anything much above 5/10 should be a clear indication of collectoritis. More than 7, definite collector.

If it’s less about how to spot a collector or work out if you are one, and more about motivations why people collect, that would be very interesting, and I might offer some slightly more serious thoughts…
And yes, I should have listed that pellet thing - though I think those who (a) collect pellets and those who (b) collect empty pellet tins are in a very “special” category (though I will confess to a small collection of interesting fired cartridge cases).
6/10. There's hope for me yet.
