Am I right in thinking this is a mk1 hw80? It’s in 4.5mm full length barrel excellent bluing and very good stock with a few marks. How much should I look to pay? Currently no open sights but owner is looking for them! Serial number 923371

Ser no. Makes it a 1983. £200 - £300. Sold a Mint MK1 80 in .177 cal last year for £275. Mach 1.5
Good one 275 to 300
I don’t doubt your prices and I know a lot were sold...
But that’s a lot of gun for £300 and nothing available new at that price would be as quarter as good!!
With the apel mount and scope then £325. I wouldn't pay more as I've seen a few for less money. I have a MK1 80 in .20 cal . Now try and find one of those? Mach 1.5
And what could I buy to replace it for £325?
Had it since new from the air gun centre........
Out of my cold dead hands I think 🤔
A brand new modular Diana EMS Rifle
A Walnut stocked Cometa 400 - the Spanish top makers magnum equivalent
A Walther on clearance with change for a re spring and custom top hat
A Gamo GX40 pcp
A range of Artemis/ Snowpeak pcp's
A new HW99 or HW57
Or for a few quid more a brand new HW80 with a 2 year Gtee- hope that helps
Looking for TO-6 Trigger unit unmessed with or T0-6 kit for 34
The BBS member asked for a value and that's what members have given. If people want to pay more for a second hand 80 then go right ahead. But scanning the various gunsites there's a few around for lot less money. Mach 1.5
Thanks all for your wisdom. Very helpful.

Not sure we will be discussing any of them in collector forum in 40 years.
Be like swapping a BMW 7 series for a Nissan Juke.
Thanks for the thoughts though

I have just paid £250 for a lovely one it’s just luck of the draw when one is up for sale
S/H airgun prices have been daft since covid / Brexit and big jump in new prices - it's difficult to gauge but you can still get new quality rifles for what some people think their s/h stuff is worth
A pre cnc HW80 with nicer more polished metal so nicer blueing would not be my choice over a more precise cnc one, albeit with slightly lesser finish. Some of the early 80s the rear block wasn't even true to main cylinder internally, hence the venom solution of machining a guide in that was centralised. Out of early 80s I've seen or had, more were more trouble than they were worth having done the rounds on forums and been tinkered with by people who just didn't really know what they were doing. Just my opinion. I'd have a new one anyday over an ancient one, but do favour the older pre star nut barrels, in 22 anyway for sure _
