    ASI Paratrooper .22

Having a bit more of a clear out and selling my vintage ASI Paratrooper.

Its .22 cal and the more accurate single shot version.

This has been refinished in its lifetime - the receiver would have had a crackle finish.

Plastic stock and pistol grips are complete and without any cracks or damage.

Front and rear sights are complete.

Shoots very well and a great back garden plinker.

Power I would guess around 7ftlbs

    £70.00 plus postage.

    ASI Paratrooper .22

I'm tempted much better guns than the repeaters although the one i had was maddening as had been badly abused ( held together with a jubilee clip & had a trigger that required rebuilding every ten shots. But i was 11 & swapped it for a gat in mitigation...lol.

LOL yes seen a few abused ones in my time and loved plinking with the one I had as a kid .The repeaters were okay apart from the often mis fed pellets getting jammed. The single shot version I always find are that bit more accurate.

    Variations of Paratrooper

Off thread a bit but many years ago I fancied one and a few years back bought one, worn but complete but for the foresight protector. However mine is a bit different from this one in as much as the pistol grip is part of a fore-end stock.
Being a pistol man can anyone enlighten me please?

1968/69 was the El Gamo 68 single shot .22 paratrooper & .177 (repeater) which have pistol grip & aluminum fore-end stock, these models also had the curved trigger guard

Later models in 79 the trigger guard was squared off removing the curved trigger guard & foresight’s was changed to plastic with metal hoods instead of the original metal foresight with metal hoods

1985 was the Gamo 85 & Gamatic this basically same as original but this model has the brown plastic wood effect all in one pistol & fore end stock

100% correct in what you say.
At one time I had several of these and all different types.I suppose I was just reliving my youth and got carries away buying them.I only have two left ,the one I'm selling and a repeater which I will hang onto for a bit.

I have two .22 paratroopers (68) & two .177 paratrooper repeaters, one has the squared off trigger guard. The repeaters was missing the mag tubes, with help from Tim aka “erichtfisherman” I now have two repeaters with magazine tubes

    Cheers Tim

One thing I’m unsure about with these is one of my spare cylinder/barrel, the holes for the stock screws are set lower than the other, the spare barrel/cylinder will not fit to my aluminum stock/frame
On the left is paratrooper barrel/cylinder one on the right doesn’t fit on paratrooper stock as the screw holes are set at different lengths

    Maybe it’s from a Gamo 85?

That's quite possible one could be an 85.The paratroopers we're made for a few years and design changes were improved. I also have the wood stock Asi sniper repeater in 177 in mint and scarce to aquire one of these. Perhaps one of the two cylinders belongs to a sniper version?
