What an interesting article.
I recall going through a similar learning experience as the author when as a lad well over sixty years ago I bought my first Webley mk 1 second- hand for 30/- (I still have it) and took several days and hundreds of pellets to finally evolve a technique of taking progressive pressure on the trigger and at the same time maintaining a steady grip and releasing the shot only when the sight picture was correct and not 'hanging on' for too long.

I think that even now if you can learn to shoot a Webley pistol well, you can shoot any air pistol.
