Sad news indeed Bob,I heard earlier today. But Im 100% sure Ian won't mind me saying, he's just moved on to torment a whole new audience.
It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of my very good friend and BBS "sparing partner" Ian Jones.
Ian was a good friend who had a brilliant wit and a superb sense of humour.
When I first started the Rossendale Target Club, Ian was very helpful and he also shot for us when I first started the MPL competitions by arranging a 10 metre air pistol series of the MPL against his own Rivington Riflemen Club.
In typical IJ fashion, he chose to shoot for our new Rossendale Target Club against his own established Rivington Riflemen club......just for a laugh!
Ian would do anything to raise a smile and his many practical jokes over the years were remembered by many with great fondness.
RIP Ian Jones - a very good friend who will be sadly missed.

I hope nobody objects to me moving this sad news to General Airgun, but I feel that Ian was such an big part of the Airgun scene for so many years that this thread sits better on the main forum.
I only met Ian once at the Boinger Bash and found him to be as amusing and interesting in real life as he was in his many posts on here.
RIP Ian, and my sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
Mick
