In training? Excellent! You lucky, lucky man!
Re the eyes.....getting frustrating now, Little Bruv. Had first cataract op in November and the second a month later. Both eyes had subsequently got inflamed post-op, so weeks" more eye drops to calm them. At last week's lazer sesh I was told vision would be blurry for the rest of the day but should have been much clearer the next day. It isn't.
Don't get me wrong....vision WITHOUT glasses is now far, far better than it was before. But nowhere close to where it was with glasses. I can sort of manage. Walk, work etc. Close up vision no good. And, for example, a poster that someone with normal vision might be able to read at ten yards' distance, I'd be a yard. The screens at the train stations that others might read at thirty yards away, I'm two or three yards. But I'm managing. Can't drive. But some aspects of commuting by train I don't dislike, like not having to put up with loads of dozy twats in rush hour. But it's costing a fortune and you sorta feel like you've lost loads of independence.
I'm at the clinic again today. I think it's more to check the right eye with a view to them lazering that one in a few weeks' time to clear the slight cloudiness in that. Will tell them about the left again. I'll also be asking them at what stage it might be prudent to get to the opticians to get new glasses sorted so that I can get back to some sort of normality.
It's a long, winding road, but hopefully getting there. It'd bloody well better be sorted out by Bash time or I'll go ballistic!

Been off the site for a while as Mrs V managed to fall over and break her right arm just below the shoulder, so I'm having to learn how to do things that I haven't done for the last sixty years. Surprising how long it takes!
Anyway, caught up a bit now and found time to make a payment for the Saturday. Look forward to seeing you all then.
Hope Mrs V recovers quickly
Pete
I travel alone
Regards to Mrs V, I have no plans to visit Royal British Canadia, and I cannot the name the foreigner as it is verging on a kidnap situation and he has no idea he is going.
No one is to take the piss out of his ridiculous accent though!
