Oh haven't seen that pic before. Mach 1.5
What gun is the mach2 based on?
Its not based on anything. Its just an underlever built to an Americans idea and dream. Mach 1.5
Paul Mach 1.5 is correct that Mach 2 is not built on any production rifle, i.e. it's not a modified HW or anything like that which made Venom famous, however it is based on a Ken Turner KT82 air rifle stainless steel prototype made in 1982 as seen below:
Concealed underlever with unusual cocking mechanism (round bar), barrel concentric with cylinder, through hole in the loading port/breech, so that a pellet falls through it and doesn't get jammed, and so on, even has one of Ken's brass cased triggers
Ken Turner has worked with Venom up until around 1989 (when the Mach 2 was made), helping them with design and making complex machined parts for them, of course you are welcome to believe in fairytales about about some dude called Trooper as described here by our American friends who dream big:
Funnily enough the Air Arms Pro Sport is mentioned in the above article, which tries to discredit the Pro Sport, of course Ken Turner moved to Air Arms and designed the TX and the Pro Sport... Sour grapes?
