"Meon 50" Field Target competition - 17 March 2024 (for FT and FT Sporter shooters)
Once again, Meon Valley Airgun Club will be putting on what is becoming a bit of a traditional "season-opener" as shooters dust off their rifles after the winter lay-off and ready themselves for another year of shooting.
Both the format and the venue of the Meon 50 remain the same as in previous years:
* 50 targets over 25 lanes, set to current BFTA rules
* Held at Meon Valley Airgun Club's grounds at Hen Woods, between East Meon and West Meon in Hampshire
* Nearest postcode is GU32 1HY and What 3 Words are unstable.romantics.dorm
* Signing-in from 8.00am, with the mandatory safety brief (which all competitors must be present for) just before the start of the competition at 10.00am
* Entry fee is just £10 if you book and pay in advance (more details of how you do this to follow shortly), or £15 if you pay on the day
* There will be trophies for all the usual FT classes, plus we will once again be running an FT Sporter class

Calling all HFT shooters! Give the Sporter Class a try!
But what if you don’t shoot Field Target? Maybe you’re a staunch HFT shooter?
Well, the "Meon 50" shoot could be right up your street - for those more accustomed to shooting prone, the “Sporter Class” that will be run on 17th March is the perfect way to try something that’s just a little different (but still very, very similar) to HFT:
• You shoot from the prone position, off your elbows.
• No part of the rifle is allowed to touch the ground.
• Targets may go out to 55 yards, BUT you can adjust your scope/”dial-in” to range-find if you wish.
• 2 targets per lane, 3 minutes per lane.

Just a quick reminder to everyone that if you book your online entry for this coming Sunday’s Meon 50 shoot at Hen Woods, it’ll cost you just £10 (as opposed to £15, if you pay-on-the-day).
To book online, just click HERE
But don’t leave it too long - the reduced price is only available until Saturday!
A top quality, 50 target course set by “Mr Field Target” himself, Meon Valley Airgun Club’s very own Justin Wood and his cohort of equally evil-minded helpers, for just a tenner - this has surely got to be the very best value competition of 2024!
And don’t forget - for those “dyed-in-the-wool” HFT members, the FT Sporter Class is right up your street and is a rare opportunity to test your mettle out to 55 yards
