Is the cocking lever a little bent? It doesn't look right.
Some rare air pistols on offer at the Wallis & Wallis 30th April sale including this seldom seen Anson’s Star which looks to have the correct pellet seater.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.
Optical illusion I think Danny. The Star is a known example and judging from the pictures, looks to be in good condition. It always amazes me when ultra rare pistols like this are estimated in the same price range as more common ones at auctions.
I notice there is also a long barrelled Certus Target pistol offered at the same sale.

Low price is to encourage bids. Its done all the time in auctions these days.
Just had a look at my own pistol and I must admit that the cocking lever on the one at auction does look decidedly bent.
Not surprising really as the Star is the hardest spring air pistol I have ever attempted to cock and it would be easy to apply too much force when doing so. Still, these are so rare that enthusiasts of early British spring powered air pistols and of Anson in particular should be making a bid even if it’s a cheeky one. The overall cosmetic appearance looks good and I’m sure it wouldn’t take much too much to restore it to working order. Mine has an incorrect pellet seater and I’m still looking for a cheap Britannia “pop-out” pistol which shares the same seater.

Yep it sure has a bent lever.the other one sold at auction recently, had problems as well.https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/a...7-b107008a225b
34% is strong commission isn't it.
There's a pistol I fancy there, for once I am local so may give it a go.
Jaysus.... Collecting the rarest UK pistols is now definitively beyond my bank account.
Out of interest, the Anson’s Star with a seemingly bent cocking lever sold for £2,100 hammer at today’s auction.
