So could be it's been misused? And maybe why it's already 2nd user? If after it goes wherever it's gone you get it back and are still unhappy, please let me know. I may be able to make you a lot happier.

Shame you're in Oldham, or I could show you just how useful these things are. Some people have already 'jumped ship' but may have been a bit premature in doing so. I thought to sell my 'standby' unit, but thought better of it.
These older style systems are half the price (new) of the later systems. The later ones may well be better, but they are in short supply, as well as being more expensive. I'm keeping my Gen I system...
My suggestion is you buy the (practically) unused system and use it for the rest of the season. Selling it for almost the same money next September....
I don't evangelise about this stuff 'cos I like typing. As I've said many times, there is very little to touch it for the money. Hook up a laser illuminator or lamp with filter, it transforms the range of the scope.
