What sort of shooting you doing? HFT, FT or hunting etc?
Hi All, I have ordered my HW 95K in a .20 with Ed at JSR, but please would you kindly help me to choose a set of quality scopes, there are so many different magnifications at both ends and I am lost. I am not to fussed on the Hawke MAP range, but I am open to advice on any others, so if you think a particular scope will compliment the HW 95K, please let me know. TYVM in advance. ATB. Reeco

Cheers Fellas, Sorry my lack of knowledge. I will be using them for for field target shooting, and on occasions I will taking a rabbit for the table.
I don't want to spend more than about £70.00 tops. ATB. Reeco

So, at a FT club then? I'd put up a thread asking.....best FT scope under £70 please.
I've never done FT, so cant advise.
Bar are doing a special on one of their scopes, a nikko 4-12 x 40 PA gold crown with flip up covers - just under £60. You could use it for a season and then sell it on when you decide on a better scope. Remember you'll need mounts and postage costs as well.

sounds like a good deal.Originally Posted by nelsdad
Reeco, to enable you to spend more on a scope, I am willing to send you some spare mounts that I have.
They are 2 piece mounts and, I believe, are low or medium height.
Let me know if your interested.

Hi All, I have just caught Ed before he goes on his hols, I ordered a 95K in .22 and this scope, JSR 3-9x50 PRO ILLUMINATED: Glass etched mil dot reticule (only the centre part of the cross illuminates) • PX adjusts down to 5 yards at full mag • add a gun light and shoot 24 hours a day • but I won't be adding a light lol.
TYVM all for the advice. ATB. Reeco

Reeco... you sound like a nice guy, loads of people have given you advice, (often conflicting..! ), but you keep changing your mind. Choosing a .20 was not a good idea for a beginner, and I'm glad you've decided to drop that, but you talk about shooting FT, by which I suppose you mean HFT with a .22, when I, and others, have advised you to get a .177. I expect you are mad keen to get started in shooting, I know I was, but for God's sake, make up your mind, and stick to it..!
Good luck...!

Hi Gwylan, lol, I have a different definaition of field target shooting to everyone else, because I am not going to enter comps with guys who could shoot a gnats todger off at 40 yards lol.
My definaition of field target is buying a pellet catcher getting a couple of cardboard targets and plink away lol.
The reason why I did finally choose a .22 was for the power, because I might just take the occassional rabbit for the table. ATB. Reeco

Sorry if I'm showing my ignorance but aren't .177 and .22 limited to the same 12 ft/lbs power?Originally Posted by Reeco
