Sounds great, I hope it is a great success, the unfortunate thing is, the only springer I have is FAC rated. So looks like theres going to be another on my wish list. The lottery beckons I think.Originally Posted by roger 62

In 2006 Lea Valley will be holding 3 springer open HFT competitions. Each competition will be over a 30 shot course to UKAHFT rules.
Open to spring guns and gas-ram guns (no semi-recoilers).
Overall these opens will decide the UK Spring Gun Championship 2006!
All safe shooters welcome; shoot one, two or all three rounds.
Each event will be a stand-alone event but the overall winner of the series (the 2 best scores counting towards individual shooters' totals) will be crowned the UK Spring Gun Champion 2006.
Trophies will be awarded for each round and the overall championship for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for all categories: Men, Ladies and Juniors.
There will be a first place trophy (only) for each round and overall championship for .22.
Dates:
Sunday 30th April
Sunday 11th June
Sunday 10th September
Entry £6 per round / £4 Juniors
Get your proper airguns out and get practising!

Cheers Rog
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Hardly a UK championship now Roger more Like a southern Redneck Hoedown (cue dueling banjos)
You know of another?
I could say the same thing about UKAHFT - E&WAHFT perhaps? - but I won't
Am I to take that as your application?
As a non-Southerner myself I have some sympathy with what you say but as El Sec I deeply resent this offensive, racist slur on our members and guest shooters - especially those from nearby villages in Hertfordshire
You can please some of the people.......

Paul and I are interested. Is it going to be pre-book, or just turn up on the day?
Beth
Good question
Probably just turn up on the day. If there's loads of interest nearer the time we may look at pre-booking but as we can fit in two rounds (ie 180 shooters) I doubt it'll be required.
Any change to this will be posted here

I will be there with the super tx
And congratulations Roger on the 100 th post
Watch that Darren Roger, I hear he shoots for the other side
So what happens if a Gas ram wins it overall ? Hardly a Spring gun champion.
Not really a fan of gas rams competing in a Spring gun championship.

A wise man has something to say, a fool has to say something.
What's your concern ? Do you consider them easier to shoot than a regular well tuned springer ? Which springers / GasRams have you compared ?Originally Posted by freewind
Genuinely curious about this statement....

Don't see the problem myself either - gas ram is just a type of spring after all.Originally Posted by freewind
Them's the rules.
As people who've shot LV springer competitions before will testify them's always been the rules.
All are welcome to participate in this series but attendance isn't compulsary

I cant see a problem here.Originally Posted by freewind
Gas ram gets classed into the the springer category because of the recoil factor, Its very similar to the spring recoil action, albeit using a ram rather than a spring.
The only exception was Semi-recoiling guns, this I'm sure you'll agree speaks for itself, and is a no no!.
