its a .22 calibre, underleaver, has a adjustable sight just in front of the tap where the pellet goes. also has a scope rail. the serial number is gp 05366 it also has the old bsa mark of 3 rifles as a tripod,,and bsa guns england on the barrel
Is it a fairly modern rifle?
The Airsporter 'S' had a GP prefix, if it is, I would have thought it would be stamped as an Airsporter, it should also have a Walnut stock.
Mind you, it could be an older rifle, and I could be making a prat of myself (nothing new there). Some pictures could be useful. If you don't know how to host them, email them to me and I'll sort them out from here.

By "tap" do you mean a lever at the side which turns a bar running acrossways
- or is it a shiny steel BSA Superstar-type rotating breech?
its a rotating breach,
Could be it's a Superstar
.... if so, very nice and worth keeping to use.
btw, do not try to open the breech without first cocking the rifle or it will damage the seal
.... and BSA (unlike Gamo) say not to dry-fire.
these are the pics taken with my mobile

Well, sorry but my guess was wrong
..... the type of underlever shows it right away.
That'll be an Airsporter then......

Looking closely at the dodgy pics, It looks like one of the last Airsporters with the MaxGrip scope rail fitted, Drop I.J on here a line he'll give you a far better idea.

From the shape of the stock, I`d say Airsporter Mk7.
If you post the serial number prefix on here one of us anoraks will be able to date it.

This may help.
'GP' should equal a Airsporter S mk2. But the stock looks different and maxi rail?
