Ooh, you lucky man.
I managed to get a little garden plinking in earlier.
Grabbed the rough looking freebie Supersport that Mick and Pete both kindly supplied spares for - cocking linkage, spring and detent spring.
Thought I'd give those horrible looking Marksmans a go.......10 yards, suppose they weren't too shabby at approx 20mm egde to edge, sitting not rested. What was scary though (as well as the well dodgy finish I commented on a few weeks ago) was that some of them dropped deep into the bore, like there was about 3mm of bore showing after the pellet skirt ended. Others needed a right old shove in they were that tight and we're still trying their hardest to stand proud.
Five ten shot groups later and I thought I'd run some other pellets through it. I already knew that it liked Superdomes. But I grabbed some Accupells for this second session, resulting in ten shot groups of no more than about 12mm edge to edge. And a couple of nice five shot groups at about 8mm edge to edge.
So, not too shabby for this rough old looking "pre-customised" old war horse. And it's stil wearing that dodgy looking well beaten up scope with the elevation turret half hanging off!
Might stick another scope on it one day (I have one or two hanging around). Come to think of it I might even really spoil it one day and give it a wipe over with an oily rag!

Afternoon, just catching up on the last couple of days Boinging
I find that pellets drop quite a way into the breech of my .22 Mk1 Vulcan
Unfortunately I haven't got any old Wasp / Pylarms, or 5.6mm pellets to try in it.
Thinking back to my early days of Boinging when I had a Mk3 Wobbly Hawk, the only pellets that were a reasonable fit in the breech were H&N Pointed that needed a gentle push, and RWS Squirrel brand; remember them in a green tin?
Like Hobbys, but a bit heavier.
Most of the various English pellets all dropped loosely into the breech, with Marksman probably being the least consistent
