I've considered it but lead and powder residue going where I put things I eat off doesn't really appeal.

Years ago some one said cowboys used black powder as food seasoning, this is all I could find

Haha trust the Americans, eat anything lol.
The point of the hot water etc if working correctly won't mix with your food, plus much worse things on the plate

I used to put the ROA cylinder in the dishwasher. Did an excellent job and I don't think I can get it that clean with a toothbrush in the sink. If you have access to one, I would say use it.
