Excuse my stupidity here but As the nite-site only has the camera and no mic as such how will having that split aux adaptor pick up sound ?? Or will the dvr unit record the sound ??

Hi guys,
Just came across this thread looking for help with the jdx990 I just bought off fleabay.
When I connect my nite site it doesn't pick up the video? I just get a blue screen.
I've emailed JXD and the seller but wondered if you guys have come across this problem before?
