    Hi Baz,

I believe it is a Haenel (probably a model IV or IVE) - I'm sure someone will come along with more info. But I'm sure that is the later Haenel trade mark.

Yes that is a Haenel Modell IV and it should say so on top of the cylinder.
Month and Year of manufacture should be underneath the cockinglever, on the barrel.

Hi Baz, it is a Haenel. l have one with the same stamping on the trigger block, mine has Haenel model lVE stamped on top of the cylinder. just as good build wise as a BSA.

    Hi All,

There is some info here: http://forum.vintageairgunsgallery.c...miscellaneous/

I think that the style of stock that yours has makes it the IVE (E for Export) model. You will see from the catalogue put up by Garvin that the domestically available German IV had a different type of stock.

I think the Export version of the stock was deliberately to make it resemble the BSA competitor and make it more appealing for the British market.

    Cheers

    Olly
