Question - how can you tell if its a real venom or not? with stickers available now, without stripping a gun down to look inside what should one look out for externally? The metalwork on this example is a very high standard black finish not blued,it has a silencer and underlever extension, no sign of open sights being fitted, how does the standard rearsight fit to the 77k dovetail or separate mounting point. It has a venom sticker on the chamber and the gun is in virtually mint condition, very little use, previous owner had it stored apparently. Also the stock is as new, looks similar to a cs700 thumbhole sporter with a rosewood cap and stippling not checkering. I would welcome your thoughts and views as to what model it is, older or newer or fake, thanks.

thanks for the advice but what would I be looking for exactly as there are so many aftermarket kits available at present, were the lazerglides recorded by serial number as opposed to the v machs which can be fitted in kit form, thanks
If its glided then Venom internals had buttons IIRC and Vmach internals have rings.

thanks that's the info I need atb tim
Do you know the age of it? That'll give you an idea if it's venom or vmach.
From what I can see it's not a mk1 or 2 as the breech is the wider type of the later versions.
Also I don't think it's a lazaglide as the cylinder is not blued.
I could be wrong as I'm only comparing it to mine.

I'm pretty damned sure that's a CS700 not a Venom stock.
Yeah, but that depends if it's being offered for sale as Venom with Venom stock...
Picture isn't very good - but by the rub marks on the comp' tube - it doesn't look like it's buttoned, neither.
See if you can fire, say 10 shots. See what it feels like, the cocking, the right sound of click etc. How did it feel ? Did it group ok ? Then judge all this with the price. Either you buy it or walk away. Simple realy.
Yeah, tricky to tell from a blurry pic - in the hands, you can see at least a bit of one button in the breech cut-out. And see the track from the bottom one when you cock it. And the end of the comp' tube tells you if it's 25 or 26mm...
Apparently, not all glided '77s have a blacked tube...
Like I said though - depends what it's being described as.
I agree it depends what he is selling it as.
And I said above the blued tube was an option.
Personally I wouldn't buy any old Venom rifle.
A lot of them seem to be viewed with rose tinted specs.
I would rather have a new Vmach.
I have seen a lot of Vmach's work and to me there is no comparison.
