    Regulator Question

I have a BSA Ultra in .177 It's not the MMC and not the SE. Unusual I know. Anyway, it has the standard 170mm tube and I will probably buy a 250mm tube for more shots and this means I can still use the moderator.

My question is, is the Ultra regulated at all? Surely it has a standard BSA regulator? I've seen a standard BSA Scorpion regulator (From a .177 rifle). The seller says it will fit the Ultras.

    Will the Scorpion regulator help?

    Cheers

Like I said, unusual. I don't know what, if anything, the SE has that mine doesn't? It certainly "looks" like an SE.

I've got a 220mm cylinder for one, if that's any use to you. Make me a sensible offer & it's yours.

BSA Ultras and Scorpions are not regulated as standard, neither the early ones or the later "SE" models.
The regulator you have seen will be an aftermarket one maybe a "Tench" or a "HuMa" reg. There are other makes of regulator that have been made to fit these guns, basically similar in concept to the original Tench regulator (eg the HuMa) or direct copies of such regulators.
The SE models of both the Ultra and Scorpion have a pressure gauge fitted between the air tube and the firing valve, it is visible under the stock (hole drilled in the fore-end of the stock just in front of the trigger).
There are various aftermarket pressure gauges that fit on the filling end of the air tube that were fitted to the original models of Ultra and Scorpion, all retained the standard BSA fill probe method of filling the air tube.

Thanks for that. The one I have seen definately isn't a Huma one, I know what they look like so I'm guessing it's a Tench model.

Also, my Ultra doesn't have a pressure gauge. I guess that's why it's not an SE model.
