But still a bit confused about stainless being weaker than mild still as when you google it, it says this.
(Stainless Steel is typically stronger than Mild Steel due to the alloy (chromium) it contains. That's why it is used to create objects that should withstand impactful force or frequent usage. Mild steel tensile strength is relatively lower but can undergo strengthening by adding carbon.)
I’m a darkie too !
HW77K .22, HW100KT .22, HW95K .22. AA TX200 MK3 .22. AA S410 MK3 .177. HW80 .25 HW30S .22. Pistols: Walther CP88 .177, Hatsan Mod25 Supercharger .22, HW45 Silver Star .177, Webley Alecto .177, SMK Victory CP2 .22
Tensile strength is is ability to be stretched before snapping, something you could do with a nut and bolt being overtightened. You won't do that to a stock bolt so don't worry
"Withstand impactful force" would be more to do with toughness, can it resist you wacking it so it could be stronger until it snaps whereas mild steel might stretch and not snap unless you're going at it like a gorilla.
Looks wise It's your choice just keep the factory bolts safe. The odd bit of bling is ok with me.
The more I think I know, the more I realise the less I know.
on a TX, the front screws go into a soft alloy block, so pick whichever one you like the look of.. they are all stronger than the mounting block.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Polished brass?
