Nice to see the Diana LP5 getting another vote, as it truly is an AWSOME bit of pistol-shooting kit.

Another vote for the BSA Scorpion in .22.

Great for messing up tin cans and old crockery.

Remind me to free up that recent purchase under the bench.

    OK here goes...

    1) For sheer quality of construction : Post-war Slant grip Webley Senior
    2) For technical perfection : Morini 162ei or Steyr LP10
    3) For an heirloom you can pass on to your kids : Webley Tempest in any calibre
    4) Usable vintage : Crosman Mk.1
    5) Nearest thing to a real firearm : Gen 1 Makarov
    6) Budget Target gun : Tau 7
    7) Budget plinker : Crosman 1377
    8) CO2 replica : S&W 656 in original shiny blue finish or Pellet version of Webley Mk.VI
    9) BB : Remington 1911/Tanfoglio Witness or one of the many derivatives
    10) Multishot : Crosman 600

These are my choices and I own at least one example of each.

    1)CO2

Crosman 451 - well engineered and the first blowback pellet pistol.
Crosman 600 - well engineered terrific fun multi shot pellet pistol.
    Crosman Mk1 - well engineered plinker/target pistol.
Makarov Gen1 (1999) feels like the real thing.

    2) Springer

Webley Premier "A" series. In my opinion what the much praised Senior should have been (indeed became) - easier to cock with a much better trigger.
Webley Tempest, Typhoon and Hurricane - terrific fun and you need the full set.

    3)Ram

Webley Nemesis - underrated, smooth shooting and cheap for what it is
Webley Alecto - (had to get one to complete my Webley collection (I know it is not a proper one).

Finally I am the only person I know who does not rate the HW45. I had one and found it too clumsy and, dare I say so, boring to use.

    My Top Ten

Having owned just about every modern target pcp's. They are all well made, shoot well, pleasure to own. None are particularly cheap. Starting with no 1. My current pistol. It's also the best pistol I have owned to date. Last is not a pcp. But I loved that gun many years ago.

    1/ Steyr EVO 10e.
    2/ Steyr EVO 10.
    3/ Steyr LP10.
    4/ Steyr LP50.
    5/ Pardini K12.
    6/ Morini 162ei.
    7/ Matchgun Hybrid.
    8/ Feinwekbau P44.
    9/ Walther LP400.
    10/ Walther LP3 Match.
