Emma has just told me that she may not be able to get the time off work (Aldi) but she is going to try and get someone to work her weekend shift and do theirs in return, another time, so hopefully all will be good.

Feel for you and Emma. I also work in retail and work every Saturday and alternate Sundays. The September Bash falls on a weekend "on" for me, so the holiday request for two days' hols went in a week or so ago. I WILL be there; just nice once you finally get the holiday officially authorised.

And at least it doesn't clash with Silverstone MotoGP this year - that's the weekend before.

Thanks for your kind offer Mick but Emma decided to change her job (only partly due to not being allowed the time off) and told her new employer that she has commitments for the 2nd & 3rd of September and they have agreed to let her have the time off.
So there will be at least 2 hillbillies from Rochdale coming
