A yup TonyL the gauntlet is well and truly thrown down. I think I can see a few boings coming on.
In however long the "BBS massive" has been running only eight other threads have reached the thousand post mark. Gentlemen I salute you all. Not bad for a bunch of gun nuts. See we can read and wite.
Goodnight all. Hal.
As promised guys, here is a link to the receipt I have received from H4H for the £143 we raised on the raffle. I have obscured part of my address for obvious reasons:-

Well, just prior to my departure on the Sunday afternoon, Mick spent some time outlining what I needed to do to seal the leaky breech issue on my HW35, along with kindly giving me a brass insert and some 'O' rings for the job. Well, I got home and still flushed with the weekend's activities, I re-chrono'd the two HW35's I'd left at home
No.1 was a '73 (leather piston seal and pre-safety) .177, which when it came to me had an OX spring fitted and no breech seal. I'd put a standard spring back in and renewed the seal. I'd not done a lot since then. OMG chrono'd at 7.75fpe with superdomes
No.2 was the '80 .177e. I'd replaced the broken spring on this one and fitted a TBT kit and replaced the breech seal and piston seal (for a new style Weihrauch). Depressingly chrono'd at 8.5fpe
Well, I carried out Mick's instructions for the breech sealing on No.1 and refitted it all back together with the addition of a TBT spring guide (for some reason I could not get the top hat in as it coil bound the spring during compression stroke). Well in oil soaked leather seal fashion, my garden resembled a re-enactment of the battle of Waterloo, as smoke drifted across the garden after each of the first 5 shots, then things became clearer. Let the old girl settle a bit more and then chrono'd her 10.2fpe. So well happy.
No.2 to get the same treatment next week.
I think this epitomises what the weekend was about (other than plinking through a couple of tins of pellets) - enthusiasts sharing experience and knowledge with each other
Thanks again Mick
Just want to thank all that put in for the rifle raffle .... And thanks to Neil for arranging it .... I'm taking it away with me on holiday tomorrow ( camping in the uk ) going to learn the internals and tidy up as best I can .... A nice long term project ... Looking forward to it
