Thanks to all the oakies for today and Biggles for the admin.

Hi All
Here you go with the results from today’s ‘bash’ in the sweltering humidity of those Downs above Mile Oak. Wasn’t sure if I should thank the breeze as we wandered round the water reservoir, or curse it’s attempts (some successful) to blow my shots just outside the kill.
Interesting course, Oakies, leading to the lowest average score (just 45.6) in the 2014 SIHFT series. Not sure about the rest of you but I spent quite a while looking for the light switch to aid spotting (let alone shooting) that long dark target in the middle section of the woods; lane 6 I think it was.
Here are the scores on the doors. Please let me know a.s.a.p. if you spot anything you think is amiss.

If you thought you had scored higher, there is more than half a chance it was ‘adjusted’ by king of the marshals – Simmmo – as the result of failing to have signed off (by a course marshal) even the slightest sign of a correction to your or your shooting partner’s scribblings. I know that Swallows FTC’s Vince fell foul of Simmmo’s eye and had his total docked a point as a result.
Prize drawer winners today were :
- Owen Johnson – the cash prize (I'm sure he's far too young to be trusted to spend £34 wisely ), and
- Rudy Goldslade – the Air Arms goody bag
Team scores today and cumulatively are :
Club Round 6 Total Oaks 278 1679 Buxted 266 1603 Horsham 262 1569 Swallows 252 1572 Ford 239 1478 Iden Fern 235 1499
Iden Fern were unable to field a full team today, so had 2 cards drawn at random from the ‘hat’ to make up the shortfall.
Oaks go ahead by a further 12 points and now lead by a whopping 76 points. Buxted are looking reasonably safe in 2nd, but there’s a definite battle on the cards between the birds (Hawks and Swallows) for 3rd.
And finally, I have to report that SIHFT 2014 saw the award of the first batch of PLATINUM badges – for those who, including today, have amassed 5 Golds. They are
Mike Byford
Eric Bynum
Rudy Goldslade
Bob Pattenden
Charles Peal
Andy Simpson
Well done, guys. One more kill and I would have joined you (kicking self )
SIHFT Round 7 coming to a place near you (unless you live in the far East of the county) – at Ford Ranges in 3 weeks on Sunday 10th August.
Happy and safe shooting in the meantime …. perhaps especially for the Sussex crew heading up to the UKAHFT at Rivington next Sunday.

... that an error on the booking-in sheets showed Roy Pearce as shooting in Open Class
Check on the card confirmed that you (as I'm sure you know) shot with a boinger.
Spreadsheet already updated and I'll edit the post 1 table. It means you earned a Silver (rather than Bronze) badge.
Please remind me of the need to swap these over for you - Roy - when we next meet.

Thanks Oakies for a great course, some interesting placements (especially 5) but an enjoyable day.
Thought my score was punishment enough until I got stung by a bee in the side of my neck in the car park. I've only just got over the 44 bites I got on my left arm at the Buxted SIHFT.
Anyway, looking forward to Ford SIHFT in three weeks and Buxted open in two weeks.
See you all soon, cheers
