    Hi David,

In your rifle's current guise, no it won't. It has a 1/2" UNF female thread, so the barrel would need screw cutting. Now, if you end up buying one of them there namby pamby pffft guns, most of those will have the screw cut barrels, so it'll fit.

Much of the "noise" you get with a springer is mechanical noise. Especially when shooting it and various parts of your good self are in contact with the gun. Always a good idea to let someone shoot your gun whilst you stand a few feet away and listen to get an idea how "noisy" it really is. If the twang (if present) did start to bug you, the de-twang is routine and straightforward.

But, it must be said, nicely tuned, de-twanged and silenced = very quiet.

The last thing that I heard, Pauly, was that Chris was at a very advanced stage in his pregnancy and that he preferred to have junior at home. And he was having a birthing pool installed.

Be nice to see the lad nip in on the thread sometime soon.

Pregnant? Which one of you lot knocked him up? Or is it impossible to tell?

Ugh, the implications of that have made me feel a bit sick now.

Anyhoooo, I've arranged to sleep in Ethel's bed (again).

    The Predator...

May be receiving a special visit soon.

Y'see, the Predator's creator, Steve Thornley had a son and daughter. Robert, Steve's son, now lives in Spain. He did come to see me at the shop a few years ago.

Anyways, he has been in touch via my wife's Faceache account and may be coming over to the UK next month. If it comes off, he'll be visiting. As he hasn't seen a Predator since 1991, he'd love to see Dad's creation. So if he pops over he can see (and have a play with) The Predator, which I'm sure will be an emotional reunion.

I have always said that The Predator will stay with me forever unless Robert wants it. So, if he decides that, one day, the time is right for it to go home, Rob is the rightful owner. The gun will be free to Robert and I will have been a very proud temporary custodian.

If his stay stretches into September, I'll see if we can get him to The Bash, too.

I think I would like De-twanging Possibly silencing too

Been having some good fun in the back yard but quite aware of the noise hence the thoughts of a pfft!

Yep, someone at the shop said you could do with a good de-twanging, David!

If you decide on a de-twang at some point, they're dead easy to work on and I know you'd be well capable of doing the fettle.

If you're not doing so already, a nice quiet backstop / pellet trap works wonders.....Argos catalogue, concrete / slab enclosure filled with sand, a large cardboard box stuffed tightly with old clothes / rubber mulch will all be good.

Good advice above from Our Tone Davy. I would also add squirrel as a good backstop in the garden

Don't you find, however, that the crack of a good old head shot can be a little loud, Pauly?
