Of course, some big dealers did special order non-standard calibres, like MAG's .25" BSA Cobra Strike Magnum (sounds like a really bad 80s action movie).

I'm not sure there would be enough meat in a blank to machine the groove required in a vulcan barrel. If there was, You'd have to be pretty gentle when closing the gun to keep from deforming it.
I guess the bore of the breech block could be enlarged to allow the full diameter of the blank to be used right up to the breech. Come to think of it, the part of the barrel engaging with the pin could be achieved on one side only, giving extra strength.
What diameter do the lw / bsa etc blanks come in?

Thinking about it Donald,

Increase in bore = 0.25 - 0.22 = 0.03

So decrease in wall thickness = 0.03/2 = 0.015"

If you were worried about the 15thou" decrease in the wall thickness you could increase the groove diameter by 30thou" and just reduce the centre of the latch pin by 15thou".

Could they be made for export market and it hasnt been reported in the U.K.? Was the .25 stingray made for U.K. as a few USA forums have reports of them. Then there's talk on one forum of a .25 Vulcan but he does not own it, said he shot it.

It was a long time ago, but Venom made me a block and barrel for my Vulcan in .25.
The barrel threads into the block and a grub screw keeps it tight (or is supposed to ).
As a last resort, you could try them, but a 2nd hand barrel / rifle might be the best option.

Would like to know the serial number of the gun in the OP's post. Although there is some overlap with late Mk2s, the Mk3 began around 850000.

My working hypothesis is that Webley got (back) into .25" after the Patriot came out in 1993. And then experimented in export markets with a few Vulcans, Stingrays, Eclipses, Tomahawks in the same calibre. Either as a deliberate piece of marketing, or because they had a surplus of .25" barrels originally intended for the Patriot. Also missing the point that if they had offered them in the UK, (a) they would have sold a few, (b) they'd have got lots of free publicity in the gun press.
