BOING BOING BOING!!!!
My, been missing that; felt good it did!
Just retuned from our Italy road trip. We hadn't been since 2013. Limited funds and with Brembo going downhill in Summer 2014, I didn't want to leave her behind. But, a couple of weekends ago, we'd had a talk and I said to the Mrs that if this woman up the road would be happy to come and walk and feed Brem, then we could have a little holiday. She had always said that her friend wouldn't be happy doing it. So I suggested she give it a try and the answer was a "yes".
So, all a little short notice. Tunnel booked, Vito prepped and off we went. Set off last Saturday. Down to Misano in one hit....easily do-able. We arrived in Calais at around 9.00 on the Saturday evening and we were on Frankie Chili's beach at 4.00pm Sunday! Has a few days there, then a one day mini-road trip down to the village in Puglia (a mere 570 miles round trip), another couple of days on the beach and then drove up north to Monza. Left there yesterday noon and back in Blighty at 2.00 this morning.
Thank you to all for keeping the thread Boinged up with loads of jolly banter; been missing you and can't wait to see you all soon.
Hope you're having a great time out there, Pauly. Sorry to hear of all the rain though, peeps. We had a sweltering 36 degrees out there.
Just winding the Sleepometer up..

C'mon, peeps.....So many lovely people who have previously attended.....be great to see as mny of you as possible again.
And potential newcomers.....I guarantee you'll have a fantastic, enjoyable time meeting like-minded peeps at this friendly, informal yet enlightening meet. You'll be made to feel welcome upon arrival and soon be boinging away!

Seize the Day! Quigley Hollow is a great place to start.
Cheers Gwyn.
Yes, 'twas great, sir, apart from the rugrats constantly bickering and scrapping.
Very hot out there. Even Sunday night driving up France towards Reims, it was 20 degrees in the dark.
A bit knackering, yes, but I do like to do it in one hit. Firstly to confirm how quickly you can actually cover ground out there and, secondly, you maximise the time spent at your chosen destination.
For example, Monza to The Tunnel in under 12 hours. And that included two stops, long queues at the border at Chiasso, a queue for roadworks south of Gottard Tunnel, a queue just before the Gottard itself (now controlled by lights on pre-entry to space the traffic flow when busy) and various road works all the way up France.
Also, amazingly, I actually look forward to driving out there, the sense of achievement, getting to holiday places under your own steam, the flexibility of diving off wherever you want etc etc....but I hate driving over here, especially at night.
Hope you and the boys have a most splendid time at the weekend.

Slinger, a favour por favor. Could you and shirl learn the intro to "on a hot summer's night" by meatloaf. It needs shirls lovely black Country accent to properly work. I think it would go down a treat around the fire. I'll put a score in micks collection bucket if you can pull it off. The intro that is.

Smell my cheese
I'll not turn down a song & dance routine with Shirl, if she should be so gracious, indeed would be honoured.
But, and its a big but: I'm not allowed to sing at all at home - even in the shower. Your generous contribution to Mick's bucket would be better spent financing my silence.
Can't carry a tune in a wheelbarrow! I can declaim a bit of verse tho' if invited and we'll put a score each in Mick's bucket together.
As to Shirl's lovely Black Country accent - have you been at the port excessively? Surely it's a lovely lilting Leicestershire.
Looking forward Dave
