    galling on the hw99s ,my 2003 model does it so its not that new of an issue.

    I assume they mean a difference in manufacturing quality not actual physical changes.

    My 2013 HW 50 (99 in the UK) does not fall short compared to my 1980 HW 35, so what do you see that I don't?

    I have a HW35 from around 1980 and a modern HW35e. Apart from the black hole built into the older gun's breech plug the quality of both is comparable.
