Its a shame that Diana dont take a lead in this respect and make a dedicated one for those rifles that may be used for hunting.

    Just a thought?

depends the market. out hunting and the scope gets broken . no iron sights = no food .
in a survival or hunting for food situation.

if you look at lots of hunting centre fire or rimefire rifles the have both a scope and iron sights .

maybe not such a big thing on an airgun though ,depending on the market

I must admit that I like the idea of back up open sights

Anyway I was thinking about going for maximus suggestion as I liked it, but had another look at the factory sight and made some subtle changes and now I am actually satisfied, I got the post to a nice shape then took of the corners and hand finished it, even though its plastic is so robust and has a smooth solid lever lock up so the factory sight is staying.

I wonder if I will change my mind next week LOL.

    Nice Barry.
Its a shame that Diana couldn't knock them out that profile at the factory as the current set up is not good. The factory foresight post looks the thicknesses of a scaffold pole down the sight line. Your re profiled one looks as if it will give a much clearer sight picture and perhaps a corresponding increase in accuracy.
My eyes are not all they used to be these days so I think I will be sticking with scopes unfortunately.
