if as above your getting around 5.5ftlbs its about right ive heard, as have many alsorts
of imaginary outputs.one point that confused me to start was that in the same gun you can find ba and metric threads ;talk about using up old stock!.

It was a good buy, especially from a shop that's often a little 'ambitious' with some of its pricing. The only mildly annoying thing was that the rivet part of the metal safety knob that holds it on the metal back plate thingy (technical terms, of course ) gave up, but I reattached it with superglue and that seems to have cured the problem. Rest of it's in cracking condition.

    Scorpion Pistol

    Hi All

A mate of mine has asked me to sell a scorpion pistol for him I wonder if you could give me an idea of what to ask for it, as I have no idea, it is .22 cal in its original box with the cocking extension and sight hood, the box is in fair condition although far from perfect the pistol shoots well , blueing good some marks around the muzzle and on the front sight, also some marks on the pistol grip, nothing serious. Serial No RB 30853

I had a .177 Mk.I Scorpion pistol, serial number PA 632, which was in MINT condition, that I sold to a fellow collector from Belgium back in October 2008.

I bought my first Scorpion from Thomas Turner in Reading in 1973, the year they came out, but I can't remember what it cost. I was on my way to see Friends in Ascot, but did a diversion to Turner's, fatal error, as they'd just received it that very day.
I px'ed it several years later for an Original 35, as a friend had a Squirrel problem he wanted me to sort.
I've always liked the Scorpion , so have since bought some when they've cropped up at the right price, but haven't bought any for the past few years.

Looks like we are of an age then!
One thing I like about the Scorpion is that it is not a replica of anything and considering the hoo ha I have caused on the Pistol Forum about them thats clearly a good thing!

thanks for that dave ,not a bad estimate if i say so myself;ive come across a source of the metal safety catchs if anyone needs one as the ones with the plastic nobbles seem to loose theirs.also the ive got a ready supply of the allen bolts fot the butt housing and the rear stock screw to action .
the next question that sprung to mind was how widely spread these were distributed ;i know there is at least one in holland! and in mint which was nice to hear,
did they get across the pond or even as far as out aussie/kiwi collegues.

One of the gun selling websites have a private sale, boxed one similar to yours for £100. An unboxed one, similar condition, with a Webley pistol scope is also on for £80. So start around £95 or so and see if you get any bidders (though this isn't really a valuation thread)

this is one of those threads thats as interesting as to how owners aquired and passed on their guns; or held on to them my own is a bit of a mystery as i cant remember for the life of me where mine went, i know where i left it but that was in 1975 ;o well at least ive picked up a super example ,very crisp but sadly lacking the box and extras. this is one of those iconic pistols that wasnt afraid to be different and i feel doesnt look old fashioned 30 plus years later!! not to many that can say that.

    And they last.
Mine was 37 years old when it had a new spring-nothing else was needed.

Here's a picture of my Homebrew Scorpion 'Shadow'. It was allegedly tuned by 'Welham' before I bought it complete with scope and silencer, and I have to admit it's the smoothest Scorpions I've ever shot.
I cut down and sprayed a Buccaneer stock, which is why the fore end is a different shape, and reaches further forward than the normal Shadow stock, which is shown in the second picture.
