I use the little black plastic caps that cover the knots in the elastic which hold the scope covers together.

They are FREE

You could go for black grub screws, either slotted or hex head as you prefer. Not sure on size but could check mine later if it helps and give a supplier link.

I used black Milliput two part epoxy putty.

Put it in and smooth over the top.

It dries hard.

I was going to suggest the endcap of a black ballpoint pen

Torn between the LSD cap, & some brass rod as a bit of bling on mine

Not done it myself yet, but when I do I’m going to try this stuff
