    What are you referring to?

The LG250 has a long mainspring and a short one. If you mean JG, he supplies only the long one.

Garvin, did you see any sign of damage to the demper when you disassembled the 250?
Unfortunately, mine seemed to be total loss..
It has had a problem earlier, dunno exactly what.(probably caused a piece of wood to crack from the pistolgrip)
When removing the end pin, it was already weaked and/or bent, which caused the action to crack..Should've noticed the pin was in place kinda weird, like, not-straight, also was a little bent steel in one holecorner.
The demper in front was eaten away.
My theory is this; it had been shot too long with empty demper. Causing the wear on the demper outside and the stockcrack. The díd open it once probably, the grease was still very fresh. Too fresh for 25yrs old..
They probably forced in the pin, which weakened it for me..
    #### happens..

By the way, do you know the weight of the damper when empty?

Nothing like that on mine that I noticed but it's an interesting thought that maybe prolonged use with an empty hydraulic unit could cause damage. Not sure of the damper weight.

Sorry to hear of your problems, hope you get it sorted.

Dampers on these guns are prone to corrosion which in turn can cause them to leak.

I have had cause to "right off" a 250 only a couple of weeks ago due to the damper unit breaking up causing the gun to recoil, this in turn created some internal play.
The knock on effect was the rearmost body tube pin split the body tube arond the location hole on the cocking lever side, the final nail was the cocking lever broke due to all the added strain.
IF IT'S NOT BROKE.........DON'T FIX IT!
