Buying airguns from NL, DE, PL etc.still possible after Brexit?

Will this morning's decision to revoke our membership put an end to mail order airguns from the EU?

If the £ to € ex. rate is favourable!

I doubt it. It will be the same as receiving mail from any country outside the uk. What pertains to us us that within the uk, guns in the mail is against the vcr act. Countries outside of the uk are not restricted by this act, so can poat to us without restriction.
What WOULD be bad is a taxing system like when ordering from USA. We may have to pay extra. I thnk it will still be better prices though, so it all comes down to exchange rate

the stock market will stabilize soon enough most of the Europe trade union types have said they wont put any restrictions on trade with England.. and if when we actually leave we do have to pay abit more tax or what ever... it wont be for a few years.

Hardly... the rate is 1.25 at the moment, it only went up to 1.30 yesterday from around 1.27.

It hasn't been at 1.40 where it was late last year for a while.

I bought one from Germany yesterday, so can't see any issues.

It makes me wonder why we have to spend 2 years negotiating trade deals

A German has something I want. I buy it or vice versa.

The same goes for a fleet of cars, albeit on a larger scale.

Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.

From what I've seen, it's the euro technocrat's that are rattling the sabre. I reckon they got a hell of a shock when 'Out' won

I would think it will become too expensive to personally import from the EU, no doubt soon they will add an importation tax and customs handling tax similar to other parts of the world we deal with.
Add that to the 6 or 8% decline in the strength of sterling and it won't be cost effective.
I imported a Steyr a few months back while the exchange rate still reasonable, if I wanted another I'd import it quick as Mr Junkers intends to make an example of what happens to countries who dare to leave the EU.
In fact I see all imported pellets and rifles from the EU eventually increasing in price due to exchange rates and new taxes.

I'm sure though that those Eton boys have the best interests of Britain's working man at the fore front of their cleverly planned, cunning policies to deal with Brexit, so just relax, we're all about to become very rich (what . . . no Brexit contingency plans . . . oh s***!).

We already do have a system which charges us for the importation of goods from non EU countries, for example I bought some boots last year from the USA and because they were over £25 I had to pay import duty on them and declare their true value to customs (actually did all that for us but the price was still properly declared and the correct duty paid).

    Agreed,

I can't see the need for trade deals involving an unelected bureaucratic, not to mention unnecessarily expensive third party in a deal between two parties. Looks like the majority who voted on Independence Day don't either

We're still in the EU for the next while, but as has been mentioned above; the exchange rate is pants at the moment.

Whatever the pros and cons of Brexit, I don't think that it has any bearing on whether this will be possible or not, BUT Customs will want their VAT and duty, so there will definitely be some paperwork and added expense (Duty). The items would be purchased vat-free from the country of sale but UK VAT and duty charged on CIF (Total cost INCLUDING post and insurance if applicable) by UK Customs. No way would such an item come in under the radar, only items below a rather low threshold get to skip this step. To add, that if the courier company handle this, as is to be expected, there would probably also be an admin fee to pay them.

    As above

with the added comment that (sort of previously, under EU Law) anything offered for sale by company x, based in county x at x price would & should be available to all members of the EU at that exact price. That above 'x' company is now free to decide if it wants the bother of dealing with exchange rates, extra paperwork, shipping woes etc and can shortly offer the same item at different rates for 'UK' customers or indeed say "we do not deal with 'UK' customers"

The Free Market price & availability protection we have become used to is about to disappear.
