    It's quite a common variation made between about 1946 and 1951. Never seen or heard of a painted one from that era.

    As WebleyWombler says, it dates from about 1946-1951, the clues being the grip extension towards the trigger, and the fixed rear sight. These pistols were all blued, and Webley did not introduce their Suncorite epoxy enamel coating until 1973, so it must have been painted at some stage. The extended grip makes it a bit rarer than most post-war Juniors, and could add a little bit to the valuations.
